I have no idea if this was necessary but Aban has some demons ok. They had decided to walk to the bottom of a stairwell so Aban skilfully redirected part of the brook to drown the three of them. I also noticed that the merchant, his camel and the merchants swordsdwarf were still hanging around and I wondered if their being alive somehow had locked the game into thinking I still had a caravan present. I kept getting the message saying no migrants this season. A bunch of extra monster hunters joined as citizens during this time, I figured the more the merrier, they mostly just spent the time praying with this random abbot who also joined.ĭuring this time I was expecting some migrants to arrive to replenish the population or a caravan to appear with some more goods (booze/food would have been nice to give Aban some extra time) but neither showed. The undead also sieged again which would have spelt the end but they all instantly ran off the map.

During this time the forgotten beast Genlath Arakgenlath asdos decided to attack, this would have been cause for concern if it wasn't made of water and popped at first contact with Zathit's axe. For the better part of a year Aban made the caskets, buried the dead, cleaned the blood, grew the crops and brewed the booze all on her own, aided by having 'very good focus'. Learning the skills was made all the trickier by Tivish Tomemgusil, who decided to come back as a spooky ghost and haunt Aban while she worked. Aban, at the spritely age of 130 years old, now had to learn some new skills as I was short a bunch of caskets and had an oversupply of corpses. She was joined by Zathit Muthkatam the Axedwarf who had arrived to slay some monsters and got his wish by killing the last of the undead "Lema Leadskinned". Not so, stuck down in the caverns on some erand was the legendary miner Aban Avuzabod "aban minedstricken", who dutifully assumed the now very vacant role of expedition leader. It happened brutally quick and I figured that was that. The merchants who fought took down two of the undead (or perhaps they just wandered off after getting bored) before being wiped and an undead marksman and generic corpse waltzed in and proceeded to paint the inside of the fortress with my militia, the liaison and every other dwarf. The caravan was slaughtered (except for a merchant, a camel and a swordsdwarf who skulked off to the lower part of the map and remained undetected). I stationed the militia at the entrance as collateral just in case. I ordered everyone inside and figured the guards for the caravan should take care of it. The necromancer didn't show so it was just some reanimated crossbowmen and corpses, about four I think. I'd started armouring up my nascent military when an undead siege rolled into town. The caverns had been breached and explored and a few wandering monster hunters had shown up. I had settled in my second wave of migrants and had just finished up trading with the autumn caravan. Everything seemed to be going pretty well, which is often a bad omen. I started a new fortress at a nice embark with a volcano and a brook.
